​This is an 8 week course building on the foundations of the Mindfulness Based Living Course with a focus on compassion practices for ourselves and for others.


The series begins with an introductory class, then the eight week course, each session consisting of a two hour class. A half day of Compassion practice is also included between weeks 6 and 7.

This course is open to those who have completed MBLC, MBCT, MBSR, other Mindfulness based interventions or a similar course/foundation course on mindfulness.


​The course is experiential. Each week includes theory, compassion meditation practice and exercises, the opportunity for reflection and to share your experience.
Participants will receive a copy of the Compassion Based Living Course in a pdf maual plus guided meditations and exercises in MP3 format.
Course Content:

Introductory session - What is compassion?: An Introduction

Week 1: Why practice compassion? Because we suffer


Week 2: The compassion mess


Week 3: It's not our fault: An evolutionary perspective


Week 4: Creating conditions for safeness


Week 5: Befriending the self-critic


Week 6: Finding the compassionate friend within


Day of practice


Week 7: The Four Immeasurable Qualities


Week 8: Widening the circle of compassion
