Square YardSquare Yard Community Garden was founded for the benefit of the local community. We aim to provide a space for relaxation and reflection, where children can play, people can unwind and read a book, meet their neighbours, find out about healthy eating and how to encourage wildlife. We have a focus on social inclusion and also aim to make the garden as wheelchair friendly as possible.

The plot is about 200 square meters which previously housed a Scout hall. It is enclosed on all sides by buildings and a fence. This site has previously been cleared by removal of old foundations, electric cables, and old oil tanks along with overgrowth of trees and brambles. |
The space is located adjacent to the David Cargill Centre at 166, Ledard Road, Glasgow, G42 9RA.
The land is owned by Langside Parish Church which is a member of the partnership organisations that wished to develop the site. The three organisations which started the project in 2013 are Fair Deal, the David Cargill Centre and Langside Parish Church.
Square Yard is currently undergoing remodelling and
preparing for the growing season.
Exciting news to come!
