Gwen McKerrell is qualified counsellor with life coaching and mindfulness training. She is qualified to Postgraduate Level in Counselling and registered with the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP).
No matter the issue you are experiencing, I will provide warmth, empathy, acceptance and understanding. Together we will explore the things that are troubling you to allow you to gain insights that will let you find clarity in your situation. Counselling will give you the tools to empower you to find a way towards self-healing and personal growth.
Clients often tell me that they find it easy to open-up and share their experiences with me. They have said that they found this helped them to see their situation in a new light that enabled them to move forward in their lives.

What is coaching and how can it help you?
Coaching is more specific than counselling. It focuses solely on a particular situation giving it the attention that it may be hard to find elsewhere. It may also include aspects of goal setting and solution-focused exercises. I will listen to you, understand who you are, what you think and how you experience the world. I will present you with an objective view that creates real clarity. Our conversations will encourage you to rise to challenges, overcome obstacles and move towards positive action.

I have worked with a range of agencies in Glasgow and in the North of Scotland. Believing that counselling can benefit anyone regardless of their personal characteristics, most of my work has been with generic services. I have specific experience in a service working with women from ethnic minorities. Keeping the connection between the mind and the body at the heart of my practice, I have been delivering Yoga and Capacitar (gentle wellbeing practices) sessions at Finn's Place for the past 6 years.
