As part of our 10th anniversary we had artists Gardner & Gardner hosting their Peacemakers loom at
Finn's Place from 6th - 10th June 2023.

Through the communal action of knitting on the loom, 'Peacemakers' offered attentive listening in a quiet hospitable space. Bringing together elements of contemporary art practice, craftivism and Christian spiritual accompaniment, the installation focusses on peacemaking at a personal and relational level, building peace through many small actions and kind words.

Throughout the week people coming into the building were invited to take part and knit on the loom, in conversation with Peter & Heidi.
When the piece was finally completed, Peter & Heidi felt that the title of the piece in the garden should be: 'Peacemakers: Dappled Weave.' |

The peacemakers was inspiring to see as it completes the unity sisters show which focus on how one action make a big difference in life of somebody. It take only a good ear to listen to the other person.
I loved this, the columns, the idea of small stitches leading to a beautiful large coloured ball, like our planet from space. A meditation.
