In 2016-17 we have received £12,000 from Tesco's Bags of Help initiative in Scotland. #bagsofhelp
We used the funds for a gardener to help with our first year of growing, and also to buy a secure storage container. We have put in place a covered working space and an art project in the garden. www.tesco.com/bagsofhelp |

Square Yard Community Garden was founded for the benefit of the local community. We aim to provide a space for relaxation and reflection, where children can play, people can unwind and read a book, meet their neighbours, find out about healthy eating and how to encourage wildlife. We have a focus on social inclusion and also aim to make the garden as wheelchair friendly as possible. Square Yard has received some funding from Stalled Spaces and the Langside Area Partnership.
We have had volunteers from the Glasgow City Council Department of Regeneration Services working with us to build our Polytunnel and Raised Beds and some apprentices from Interserve who did more work on the raised beds and lots of painting. A big thanks to all who have contributed and helped us so far.

What do you want to see in your community garden - let us know! We also welcome any ideas you have for fundraising and fun events at the garden. Please don't be shy. The garden will only grow if we have volunteers to get involved. You don't need to have any special gardening knowledge or skills.
