Loneliness

What is it? What does it feel like?
What can we do about it?

Friday 15th September,
9.30am - 12.30pm

Free event, £6 for optional lunch.

To register: e:ruth@finnsplace.org, t: 0141 632 7520

Over the past few years there have been several major studies done on the frequency and impact of loneliness or social isolation. In the study carried out by the Coop and The British Red Cross it was reported that 80% of people have experienced loneliness, only one in five have not, 18% of people are always lonely or often lonely and 30% think older people are most likely to be lonely - but only 10% of the over 65s say they are always or often lonely.

Our speakers for this event will be Hilda Campbell from Cope Scotland and Zoe Ferguson from The Carnegie Trust. There will be a chance to discuss the topic and begin to look at how we can help those who are lonely in our area.
